GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

These terms & conditions may be amended from time to time, and apply to all our services and our shop.

Tarzan Guide is a tour operator, offering a wide range of adventure snowmobile tours in Iceland, directly. Bookings can be made through Tarzan Guide, or by sending us an e-mail to arni@tarzan.is. We aim to reply to you within 24 hours!

Please make sure to fill in and/or provide all necessary details upon booking your adventure tours. Once you have completed the booking process, you will receive an e-mail with your booking number and the voucher/s for the services booked. The voucher/s will be your proof of payment, so please bring it/them with you on the day of your tour. Please note that you are responsible for carefully checking all the details on your confirmation and related travel documents, to ensure that they are correct. In the event of a discrepancy, such as booking mistakes where the wrong date and/or an incorrect number of participants was booked, please contact Tarzan Guide immediately, as it may not be possible to make amendments to your reservation when it gets closer to your departure date. Tarzan Guide cannot be held responsible for mistakes made in the online booking process, or incorrect information provided by e-mail.

Tarzan Guide, reserve the right to alter itineraries and/or timetables if needed, due to unfavourable weather and/or other affecting conditions. Tarzan Guide is not responsible for expenses and/or other related costs due to factors outside of their control. These could be factors such as, but not limited to, flight delays, sudden changes and or cancellations, injuries, weather, war, natural disasters etc. and/or other unforeseeable matters. You are responsible for providing Tarzan Guide with the correct contact information and related details so that you can be kept informed in the event of changes made to the services booked.

PRICES

Please note that all prices for the services provided by Tarzan Guide are in the company’s local currency, Icelandic Krona (ISK). Tarzan Guide cannot be held responsible for currency fluctuations and/or additional fees outside of their control, that may be applied, such as bank transfer fees, credit card fees etc.

PROMOTIONAL CODES & SPECIAL OFFERS

Please note that special offers and promotional codes cannot be applied after-the-fact, in the form of a refund. When offered, promotional codes and other special offers must be entered into the relevant field located on the payment page, upon checkout, at the time of booking to be valid and applied, or otherwise be agreed upon in writing via e-mail.

PICK-UP & DROP-OFF SERVICES

Tarzan Guide, offer pick-up and drop-off services for most of the tours. Please read the tour description very carefully, to see if pick-up and drop-off services are included in the price, can be added as an extra, or if the activity in question only offers the option of meeting-on-location. You, as the traveller, are responsible for your pick-up. This includes providing Tarzan Guide with your pick-up location with good notice, as well as being ready at the correct time for the pick-up for your tour. Please keep in mind that the pick-up time and departure time can be different. Tarzan Guide will provide you with information about your pick-up timing, on your voucher, which is provided upon booking. If you are unsure when to be ready for your scheduled tour, please contact our office at arni@tarzan.is.

Please note that missing the pick-up does not entitle you to a refund of the price paid for the services. You are responsible to be ready for pick-up at the assigned pick-up point, from the start of pick-up time, in order not to miss the tour.

MEETING ON LOCATION

If you are planning to meet us on location for your tour, please be sure that this can be arranged. Please read the tour description of your tour very carefully, Please note that there are some tours where this cannot be offered. If you are unsure if this service is available, please contact us at arni@tarzan.is. You, as the traveller, are responsible for arriving at the meeting point in time for your tour. This includes being ready at the correct time, at the correct location, in time for your adventure tour. Tarzan Guide will provide you with information about the meeting point for your tour, on your voucher, which is provided upon booking, or by e-mail. If you are unsure when/where to arrive for your scheduled tour, please contact us at arni@tarzan.is.

Please note that if you do not arrive in time for your tour, and/or are late to the meeting location of the tour, in other words you do not arrive at the correct meeting point, at the correct time for your tour, you are not entitled to a refund of the price paid for the services.

EXTRAS & RENTAL GEAR

Safety equipment needed for each tour is provided by the tour operator unless otherwise stated in the tour description. This is not classified as extras or rental gear.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

As with all world-travel, we strongly recommend that you purchase a travel insurance policy in your home country, that covers your cost should you have to cancel your travel reservation with short notice. These kind of travel insurances are not expensive and frequently cover other risks. Having travel insurance is always a clever idea when travelling around the world. Activity Iceland does not arrange travel insurance.

CLOTHING

Tarzan Guide provide you with! Helmet, Jetwer Mono suits, Gloves, Footwear and Avalanche Cylinders. A good rule of thumb in Iceland is to wear, or at least bring, warm underwear and waterproof clothing always. Layers are the key to comfortable Iceland travel!

ASSUMED RISK & OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Customers are advised that all activities are undertaken entirely at their own risk, and they must behave in a fit and proper manner at all times, in accordance with Tarzan Guide guidelines. Customers must take proper responsibility for their own safety. All adventure tours and outdoor activities carry inherent risks, and Tarzan Guide, do not assume responsibility for accidents caused by customers, or can be traced to their own actions, or are caused by factors outside of human control (Force Majeure). With the purchase of your trip, you agree to these conditions, understanding its implications and accept responsibility for your participation in your trip. Depending on the excursion, you may be requested to sign an additional liability release. If you refuse to do so, you may be forbidden to participate in the activity or tour.

ALCOHOL & DRUGS

Tarzan Guide, reserve the right to refuse participation to any client they believe is under the influence of alcohol, or other intoxicants. In such circumstances, no refund will be given. The tour guides are well within their right, provided by their employer, to refuse participation to any customer, whose conduct, manner or behaviour, is likely to cause offence, upset, or put other passengers in danger. In such cases, no refund will be given.

REVIEWS & FEEDBACK

Tarzan Guide welcomes all feedback, both positive and negative, as it helps us improve our overall services and performance. We would greatly appreciate if you could share your experience with us, either by e-mail (arni@tarzan.is) or on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Tarzanbackcountry/ ).

Please note that any and all complaints must reach Tarzan Guide within 5 days from the completion of your tour. Otherwise, any compensation, if it were likely to apply, is automatically foregone.

All cancellation fees held by Tarzan Guide, are only intended to cover the direct cost of amending and/or cancelling your tour.

All communications relating to these terms and conditions (particularly any requests to cancel or amend your tour arrangements) must be from the lead traveller of each reservation, and delivered in writing, by e-mail, to arni@tarzan.is to be considered valid. Once delivered, the amendment and/or cancellation needs to be confirmed by Tarzan Guide to take effect, and before any further action can be taken. If a reimbursement is in order, it shall be made in accordance with all procedures and processed within 7 working days, and the stipulated amount will be transferred to the same credit card that was employed for the booking of the tour. No refund will be issued onto a different card, in a different currency, by a different medium (such as bank transfer), or in cash. Please note that we cannot be responsible for delays of the delivery of the reimbursement to your account, once it has been processed on our end.

CANCELLATION FEES & CHARGES – INDIVIDUALS (1-9 PASSENGERS)

As we start to incur costs from the time a service is confirmed, we will apply cancellation charges as shown below, from the time when written notification of the cancellation is received. These cancellation terms do not apply to cancellations made on behalf of Activity Iceland, or any third-party supplier, only if the customer makes the cancellation.

CANCELLATION OF DAY TOURS OPERATED BY TARZAN GUIDE

More than 24 hours’ notice 90% refund
Less than 24 hours’ notice No refund

 

For all bookings of day tours operated by Tarzan Guide, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice of cancellation is required for a 90% refund. If cancellation is made after these time limits pass, no refund is given.

10% of your trip is non-refundable, this percentage reflects our cost of booking and preparing for your trip.

CANCELLATIONS OF PRIVATE & CUSTOMIZED DAY TOURS

Please keep in mind that these terms apply to the whole package.

Cancellation of activities or individual elements of the package may not be subject to refund after the package has been booked.

More than 28 days’ notice 90% refund
Less than 28 days’ notice 50% refund
Less than 48 hours’ notice No refund

 Cancellations with more than 28 days’ notice:

You will be refunded 90% of the total tour price.

10% is non-refundable, as this represents our direct cost of booking and preparing your tour.

Cancellations with less than 28 days’ notice:

You will be refunded 50% of the total tour price.

50% is non-refundable, as this represents our direct cost of cancelling any arrangements made for your tour.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice:

No refund will be given if tours are cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, as Tarzan Guide will be charged for all costs, such as guides, transport, activity etc.

Please note that some suppliers have a stricter cancellation policy. In these cases, Tarzan Guide will inform you of any special cancellation conditions, prior to confirmation of any services, or this information may appear on your voucher upon the time of booking.

Cancellations made with more than 4 weeks’ notice:

You will be refunded 90% of the total tour price.

Cancellations made with less than 4 weeks’ notice:

You will be refunded 50% of the total tour price.

50% is non-refundable, as this represents our direct cost of cancelling any arrangements made for your tour.

Cancellations made with less than 1 weeks’ notice:

No refund will be given if tours are cancelled with less than 1 weeks’ notice, as Tarzan Guide will be charged for all costs, such as guides, transport, activity etc.

If a tour is booked with less than 13 weeks’ notice, please ask for a customized cancellation policy.

Please note that some suppliers, and accommodations, have a stricter cancellation and name list policy. In these cases, Tarzan Guide will inform you of any special cancellation conditions, prior to confirmation of any services, or this information may appear on your voucher upon the time of booking.
